We are happy to announce that the BSSHA recently purchased a brand new set of dasher board for the hockey rink.   The new boards will enlarge our rink to regulation size for hockey and will include player boxes and improved safety features.   It will also reduce the yearly maintenance expense associated with the old wooden boards.   This would not have been possible without the tremendous financial support we received from many individuals, businesses, and foundations in our “Raise the Boards Campaign”.   This included a matching grant of $25,000 from the Resort Tax Board and large gifts from the Yellowstone Club Community Foundation and the Spanish Peaks Community Foundation.  We also had 34 “Board Sponsors”, the most that we have ever obtained.  Please check out our Donor page to see the list of our many supporters and let them know how much we all appreciate their support of our Community.   Again, thank you for your support!

With a larger rink, we anticipate greater participation in our programs.  We will continue to have Open Adult Hockey several times a week and our expanded rink will make it possible for us to schedule more broomball games at the same time.  Last year, we had a record number of players and are hopeful that our numbers will continue to grow.

Our Youth Hockey coaches, Scott Leuzinger and Steve Rapp, are returning this season and hope to work with an even greater number of kids. Like last year, skates and hockey equipment are available to local kids at a very modest charge for the Season.  For information about how to obtain this equipment, call Scott Leuzinger at 406-539-9766 or send an e-mail to BIGSKYICE@gmail.com.
